Usually I drop my phone a month or so before the new one comes out. (or lose it in one case) While that allows me to stay at the height of technology, this time (I just smashed the shit out of my screen 20 minutes ago) I don't think there's a new Iphone coming out soon. I have a few lines on my plan so I can grab the updated and it always works out fortunately, but now, hey...
So, I would like to know the best way to fix my glass. I expect DBD to have the right answer, but I invite all opinions. Instead of googling and getting a hundred answers, I thought Id come to the people I trust.
Unlike a Shivvettes thread, this actually happened.
Don't get me wrong, I'm not happy when this happens, it just seems to happen when the next phone is coming out. (and yes I was 9 Buds deep at 4 in the afternoon. at least I waited until after 1 to start boozin.)

I believe Ive explained my situation fully in this dissertation but if not I welcome all questions.

oh so summary; best way to fix glass on my gay phone?

pretty sure even Apple will replace the screen for about $140 now, in the store while you wait.

Wow, that's a pretty reasonable price. I paid 150 for my LG G2 screen at some local cell phone repair place, and the assholes used some glass they bought off Ebay and not Gorilla Glass. I dropped it from a foot a month later(phone is slippery as hell, and I hated cases at the time) and the fucking thing broke again.

it happens so often they realized they should offer it to keep customers calm: they used to complain about paying $700 for a new phone because the screen cracked; now they just have to decide to fork over a hundred or so. Its even covered under the applecare as well: once per phone.

My wife took her iphone to a third party repair place and they put a new glass in. It must have been under some stress because it cracked a few weeks later. Some Apple geek explained what the third party vendor did wrong but I didn't pay much attention. Anyway, I'll probably go to Apple if i have to have it done again.

I can get the 6S for 99 if I resign the contract at best buy, a texter tells me, but I'm subjugated to Verizon for 2 years.

they hold together fine, I don't lknow how all the glass doesn't fall out.

I told you, theres's a thousand answers. I;m here for the right one. Soon as DBD get's in here, we'll get some results.

    I agree do this.

If you're handy you can get one on eBay for a lot less and donut yourself but for the front glass that will mean pulling a good portion of the phone apart

Yeah for mine it was use a spudger to open it, take out like 20 tiny torx screws, undo some ribbon cables to move some boards out of the way, use a heatgun to soften the adhesives holding the screen together and more. At one point in my life, the young Heathkit enthusiast who had no money, would have leapt at the chance to DIY it...Such has not been the case though for a long time. Let the guys who can do it in an hour or so, and will warranty the work do it.
