I wasn't excited about this movie at all until i watched the trailers. I think this might be the version where they finally get a Spider Man movie right.

I don't know how I feel about it yet. I'm intrigued by the way that Spiderman doesn't act like a total faggot in this one.

Why are all the superheroes now British? Spiderman, Batman..the new Superman.

I don't really care or anything...I assume it's partially to appease the international audience that has gotten tired of Yanks pretending to be the saviors of the Earth on film, but it's still odd to see.

I say, after Craig retires, we should get a Yank to play the next Bond.

I don't care if he's Jewish or not in fact I don't even know who this kid is. As a squirt I read comics but never had a hard on for spiderman so I'm indifferent about the new flick. I'd rather see Prometheus again.

Funny you should mention his semiteness, i can't stand that fucker andrew garfield. I hated his squeaky ass in that facebook movie and i hate him now as spidey. Hollywood has no fresh ideas, do we really need a retooled spider man movie series? i hope it bombs

When reached for comment, Aunt Mae responded...

"Peter, I just want you to settle down with a nice Jewish girl - forget that shiksa Mary Jane. Call back when her last name is Abramowitz. And what's this gunk all over my curtains? Peter, what are you doing in that room of yours? Don't make go through that camera. What's wrong with you? You stay out til all hours of the night, you're wearing this new blue and red underwear, and you won't even touch your brisket. Are you becoming a male gay? And look at your eyebrows!"

Well I watched it on the internet but it's best on the big screen due to the effects and action.

Andrew Garfield was born in Los Angeles, so technically he's American.

He's like our 2 presidential candidates -- one American parent, one foreign-born parent.

Prometheus is a dark, moody and pensive work. And I can't get it out of my head. It may be partially-reviled now, but I think it will go down as another minor/major-masterpiece for Scott (who should have been making sci-fi this whole time). On visual design and cosmology it's stunning.

I doubt any other tentpole will touch it this summer.

While the trailers look good, it just seems to soon for me to be rebooting Spiderman.

For Batman they waited 13 years after the last good batman live action movie (1992 batman returns- 2005 batman begins). There was also a new aspect with this movie as for the first time on film we got to see batman's origins and the film had a truly different feel. It was realistic and gritty where as the burton films had a distinctly gothic asthetic (with music as well).

For superman they waited a full 26 years to reboot after the last good one (1980 superman II- 2006 superman returns)

With X-men while they only waited 8 years after the last good one (2003 x2- 2011 x-men first class), they tackled the origins of magneto and professor x, focusing on an entirely different era with different mutants

It has also been only 8 years since spiderman 2, and other than a new spiderman and better cgi I don't see much to get excited about. I certainly don't feel like sitting though another "origins of spiderman" sequence since what more can they do with it. Also as was the problem with the new superman from superman returns, this spiderman looks too much like a pretty boy.

Also, about Prometheus, if you like Sci -Fi, Ridley Scott, or the Alien, go see it. Particularly on imax 3-d if you have the chance as it's the best looking film since avatar, and in my opinion, unlike avatar it is actually a good movie.

Much of the complaints are due to the fact that the movie leaves alot of unanswered questions but it is still great
