Saturday Night Live – Sarah Silverman / Maroon 5

And the laughs were few and far between!

Looks like SNL remains on the cutting edge of who and what's popular!

Next week, Al Roker and a drunk Lady Ga Ga! :yay:

I thought it was a strong episode. Especially when compared to last week.

I hate that douchebag Levine. I loved when he got his arm chopped off on American Horror Story.

I hate SNL, bit Silverman just won an Emmy (& is an alumni) & Levine is on a hit show & Maroon 5 has a hot single now
    People like them both.

I think the point is that at one point in time SNL would have cutting edge acts and "hot" talent, not faded pop stars on the way down and bit player mediocre comics, Emmy winning or not.

"SNL was great show Gar. Sarah couldn't be hotter right now and I think the writers really took her places that comedy hasn't touched before."

    That was 1976 lol
You must not pay attention to think SNL has been edgy since Belushi & Co. left over 30 years ago.
Like them or not Levine/Maroon 5 & Silverman have never been more popular.
That said I could not care less, the show sucks

Sarah Silverman mediocre? I feel she's one of the most consistently funny comics out there.

Yeah, I remember when the Beatles judged shitty talent contests and nobody on planet earth can remember any of her bland comic bits, but they can recite Eddie Murphy from 30 years ago.

I was actually thinking a couple years after that, when Elvis Costello basically told them to GFT and played what he wanted to play. I doubt I could remember a single memorable musical peformance on that show after that.

There are literally millions of morons who consume vast quanties of at-best mediocre entertainment. Because dummies need something they can grasp. That does not make the artists involved either in their creative prime, nor any good to begin with.

Want an example? Starland Vocal Band beat out Elvis Costello for the "best new artist" Grammy in 1977, I think, and far outsold him.
There was a "Starland Vocal Band show" on TV that year, also. There was, in contrast, no Elvis Costello and the Attractions show. They were a tad busy actually being musical artists, touring, and making great albums.

Now, does that mean SVB was better, at a creative peak, or in any way not total shit? Because they were a) popular or b) on TV? I rest my case.

Why are you arguing a point I never made?
Why do you care so much about who host SNL?
You made like both were has-beens & both have never been more in the public eye.
Just because they are friends of the Stern Show doesn't negate that.
I never saw Sarah's new show & haven't downloaded Maroon-5's stuff, but I don't feel I have to dis-credit them because they are stern fans. It is stupid to cre that much man. lol

Sirius' studios and NBC studios are literally right across the street from each other. they both share talent frequently

I'm certainly not going to get caught up in debating the specifics of "who's hot" in the entertainment world at the moment.

All I know is that I'm getting very excited about next week's show with Sandra Bernhard hosting and Train being featured as the musical guest.
