Howard will have the greatest website ever. The technology just isn't there yet.

I'll never defend the Howard of 2014 but I will defend Howard of the '90s.

Consider the state of what "media" was in about 1997, when Howard really started to buy into that KOAM stuff.

    There was:

    1) radio
    2) television
    3) movies
    4) books

The internet had not yet become what it is today and I don't think podcasts existed in 1997.

Consider also that Howard was basically a radio show host, one of millions across the country. He did have a top-rated radio show - that can't be denied. He was on TV for awhile in various forms, although I don't consider the E! Show a real TV show. True, his show was eventually cancelled but he had more success than guys like Will Arnett and Jason Alexander, who struck out numerous times with their own shows. He did have a movie that made a modest profit and he did have a couple of best sellers.

King of all Media? Hardly. But he did have a measure of success in the media of the day. The rest is Howard puffery.

He's had 3 day "work weeks" and hundreds of millions of dollars to play with for years.

    He has...

Not put out a book since 1995. Howard Stern has no meaningful internet presence beyond his fans.
He just lost his t.v. subscription service with its "thousands of listeners." He went to satellite for more than just the payday:
He was losing audience rapidly on terrestrial radio and now internal polling shows Stern may
be listened to by as little as 400,000 people on a daily basis. He hasn't put out an album since 1997 or done anything with downloads.
Stern hasn't had a successful television show of his own.

I don't see how anybody could believe he is the "King" when he hasn't done anything revolutionary, or really anything at all, outside of radio
    since 1997.

Howard was never the King of All Media. He was the King of Radio, but he only had modest success at best at any other medium other than his books. His movie was a very minor hit. His E Show was big for E (at least pre-Kardashians), but never a huge ratings getter. He was never more than a blip on the radar on TV and in the movies.

It is funny that a nickname that started as a joke has turned into embody the narcissism of Howard Stern. He and Jackie came up with the nickname to mock Michael Jackson calling himself the King of Pop because they thought it was so narcissistic. The ironic thing is Howard did the same thing and started to take the King of All Media nickname seriously.

But he did tell Seinfeld that he had 10 or 11 projects sold but desided not to do them.

That is his new spin on his failed production company. The reason why he couldn't get dogs like the Porky's and Rock N Roll High School remakes, Sam Kinison biopic, Howard Stern the High School Years, and Doomsday made was because he didn't want to put in the effort.

The only thing he got made was Son of a Beach which was FX's highest rated show, but that ain't saying much because I think at the time an infomercial was its second highest rated show. And the only reason that got made was because Tim Stack ran that production and he has been able to get TV shows on the air (Night Stand, My Name is Earl).
