Everybody can agree even with this PC era bullshit he's going through he is still the #1 broadcaster of all time.

However, besides being a successful in radio, did he really succeed with the other media outlets? Just because he made a successful movie and night show doesn't make him successful in those fields, or was it because he was innovative with his channel 9 show that there wasn't a similar show at the time?

Self-proclaimed only. From his big greedy mouth and huge ego came this pretense. Sorry, just don't agree. Ryan Seacrest is more the king of all crappy media than Howchie is. Little, lying marboed asswipe is his title.

He was the king of comedy on the radio.

He was never the king of TV, movies, tabloids or albums.

I think of the times he would come down on people for doing side gigs and it cheapening his show...then he does AGT.

Jackie made up that title as a joke and Howard latched on to it.

E! Show was big, you forget how much. It was a long time ago, but back when there was such a thing as a "casual" Stern fan the majority knew him from the porn whores and celeb sluts interviews at 11pm whatever on cable. It wasn't the "guy who sits and busts chops with Artie and Robin," it was "creepy old dude who gets strippers to undress and has a black sidekick that laughs at everything."

In all honesty I would say in terms of mainstream viability the E! show was bigger than the radio show for a hot minute there...

The E! Show....certainly for more mainstream *visability*.

For actual "viability"...the syndicated radio show was a cash rocking MONSTER.
The "real" numbers were bigger than most will ever dare to admit.

How can he be King Of All Media when he doesn't have a Podcast?

Look at you being straight forward. I'd rep you, but I'm afraid it would encourage you to go back the other way.

I used to love the radio show, but would not watch the E! show. It seemed to have more commercial breaks than the standard shitty 30 minute t.v. show and it was basically an infomercial for Girls Gone Wild. And the content consisted of the things that I would tune out of the radio show for, such as celebrity guests and strippers and porn stars who had nothing interesting to say. When I want to see naked chicks, I watch a porno.

He was never the King of All Media. He just liked to call himself that.

He was never the King of All Media. He was successful on radio (in most markets, not all) and had two best sellers. He failed in films. Made no impact on television.

In my opinion, the E Show was the worst thing to happen to his radio show. Once they had to create bits that were visual for the cameras, the show started its downward slide. Before that, the radio show had a more natural flow to it. It was more spontaneous and whatever happened happened. The gang would just run with it.

I used to think the Channel 9 Show was funny, but re-watching some of them now, it's clear they really weren't.

According to Buchwald marketing dept, yes

Accordingly to reality, there was a high point. But to paraphrase Thompson, that wave has crashed, and rolled back.

He was, and he deserved it at the time. Which is why he's so hated now. Everything that made him special is gone now, and he turned into Larry King.

    He's a hypocrite.
