I always thought it was pronounced "Air-o-smith" and it's getting on my nerves every time howard says "Arrow-smith."

Me too, there is no W in Aerosmith. But what do I know? I'm not an English major like the Howard's beard.

I mentioned this one a few days ago on the thread about names that Howchie mispronounces. This one's bugged me for years. I used to think it was a NY thing but no one else on the show says it like that.

    Is it air-plane or arrow-plane?

The band name is meaningless but was a book called Arrowsmith the band read in high school as they were forming the band 'Aerosmith', and so the book is sort of an inspiration for the band name.
They were all just kids when they started the band and came up with the name Aerosmith, so it's just some name teenage boys thought was "Cool", and I guess you can pronounce it either way considering it's not a real word.

All 5 members of the band say one "r" sound: Air-o-smith, not Air-row-smith.
