i'm just curious to hear others opinions. i think it's taking the easy way out. i know it will eventually bite you in the ass but maybe some will invent a perpetual income machine.

Under a Republican, it is fine. Reagan tripled the national debt....doesn't matter...Bush...enough said....doesn't matter.

Under a Democrat, it is the end of the world.

it wasn't fine under Reagan's democratic congress, and it wasn't fine under Bush, and it isn't fine under obama and obama's formerly over-democratic congress

so odd how reagan haters forget that the dems promised spending cuts in return for tax hikes, then the dems absolutely violated their pledge and did not cut one dollar from spending.

    and that's somehow reagan's fault.

You mean other than the fact that we can't find a single bit of evidence that you all mentioned the word "debt" or "deficit" outside of the Obama/Clinton years?

There is good debt and bad debt.

Investing in the future, our future, where we will see benefits or our children will see benefits of good investments is good debt.

Throwing away money at needless wars is bad debt. Overspending on our military is bad debt.

Our whole economy is based on debt. So stop being foolish.

interesting points. so you feel there is nothing inherently wrong with debt, you just have a problem with how we spend the borrowed money.

Like before there was a dawgsaloon? You need forum posts from the Reagan years to confirm that a person is concerned about debt?

Investing in our infrastructure and education would probably be considered good debt.

You manage your debt. Sometimes bad debt is inherent. Like buying a car. You know that the return on that debt is probably a loss. But it is necessary to generate revenue.

Right wingers lose credibility on this issue with their non acceptance of global climate change. If you really cared about your "grand kids' future", you'd want to give them a safer earth.

dude, they call everything they want to spend money on "infrastructure". California is starting a $100,000,000,000 train that nobody wants under the guise of "infrastructure"
