Don't know if it's even possible under Howard's contract but I'm starting to wonder if something is up. A few months ago Howard was talking about all the new programming they were developing so there would be plenty to listen to when he left for AGT (and they did introduce a few new shows). Now all of a sudden the live shows are "on hiatus" and Howard even mentioned recently that he'd rather just do his show and scrap H101, which is exactly what he'd say rather than admit Sirius pulled the plug. Wonder if Sirius gave them a deadline to show some improvement and they didn't measure up. Hosts on other channels have mentioned that Sirius does have some way of determining ratings and we all know H101 is a trainwreck. That new Comedy Central channel is coming in May, maybe that will take over 101.

Good...then I won't have to hear him utter that long-winded phrase "Howard One-Hundred-One"....what a douche phrase that was, probably Sabien's idea for "branding" the shit channel.

But nothing irks me more than how Stern calls AGT by its full name- he refuses to call it AGT, as if NBC made some mandate- what a cocksucker- if he said AGT, what would his remaining 3000 listeners do, scratch their heads wondering what that strange acronym stands for?

Hope your theory is right on this. H101 has been a big disappointment and failure, for the most part. It deserves to die!

Only benefit of Howard 101 these days is the West Coast feed for the dwindling number of folks who still listen to the HSS. There is no other real content left on the channel, and Howard/Don will have to do lots of spinning of the truth if Sirius pulls the plug on 101.

The only really worthwhile thing on H101 is Stern Show Shuffle. If they get rid of H101 and that then I will not be renewing my subscription. It's bad enough that they are taking popular with the fans shows like BOR and Geektime but when they replace those with that Dr. Fish guy and Abe Kanan and those two ex-con turds it's time to cut the cord.

    The short answer is yes.

They never put any effort in the channels, waste of time from the start. Good thing Howard had enough material for 3 channels.

...i agree h101 is to keep the west coast in the loop same as it was in terrestrial radio. i can imagine the 23 skadoo don and howard would be doing to justify how terrestrial was able to market the ny replay but sirius wasnt willing to support it. ive noticed i hear more jay thomas than i did before. id be ok with it if i heard the 3 days of the stern show on the weekends mixed in with other show replays. it could actually spark a whimper of interest in the show in some ways since the show is everywhere like starbucks and aol cd's.

For the amount of people that are employed for this show you think they would be able to doing something with H101, I remember looking at that those annual staff pictures and amazed how there can be so many people yet they produce so little content, what the hell are they doing there half the time other than sleeping on the job? With Howard only working 2-3 days a week they should have the rest of the time to produce content no?

But I guess it's not in the budget.

Frankly I'd rather they just rerun old segments from the past. It irritates me when, on a Thurs or Fri, I tune in 100 and it's something I've already just heard or don't want to hear, then flip over to 101 only to get GeekTime, even Jay Thomas(has his moments but 90% is boring ramblings of a guy just phoning it in) , or some other shit show.

Sirius in general is a big disappointment. The music is repetitive and nothing unique, highly compressed, and most of the "talk" is stuff I either don't care for or can already get on radio.

I might be wrong but I don't think I've ever listened to 101.

Howard's edict, all work must be done on his show. No outside projects.

101 Should have west coast feed and stern shuffle. Everything else can go.

Stern has 0.0 incentive to spend any money or waste his staffs time with 101.
Sirius can't take 101 away from him either.

Hosts on some other shows have been saying that the ratings for their shows came out and they "know where they stand". Think I heard it on the Stars channel, forget which host said it. That being said, I bet funding for the 101 shows got slashed due to terrible ratings.

If it was canceled due to lack of listeners wouldn't Howard 100 be the first to go?

If H101 does get canned it will be "I finally implemented my plan of consolidating everything to a single channel" rather than "the ratings on H101 were shit, so they took it away." He has to save face for Mariann and Bobo.
