Don't want to waste the 90 minutes if it blows...
Surprisingly, yes. Skip the music and he's a great interview.
I thought it was boring, some highlights, but not worth the 90 minutes.
Someone I know, who still listens everyday, said the Steve Miller interview was excellent. The guy's practically a recluse but was extremely open and forthright with Howard.
how big is his cock
how much $$ did he make off the joker
does his father resent his success
you have said it all steve
now sit to my left while i poof my hair
He was fun & interesting. I was expecting him to be cranky but was pleasantly surprised.
The most interesting part was his railing against the rock & roll hall of fame and jann wenner towards the end.
Is he still alive? Who knew or cares.
I really liked it too (not even a big fan), but he seemed cranky as fuck and basically called just about everyone he was ever involved with a liar, idiot, dipshit, etc the entire interview. Is he usually worse?
No no no no no
I wish I could unhear thie bitter angry old man telling stories from 50+ years ago.
If you are having problems sleeping, it's a perfect alternative to lunestra.
It was actually very good. The guy seems like a bit of a crank, but certainly didnt hold back and had a natural rapport with Howard.
Now, if you're looking for some interviews to avoid look no further than Adam Driver (didn't even act like he wanted to be there) and Andy Samberg (wanted to be there, but couldn't get any rhythm).
It is worth it. One of the few interviews that I really liked this year.
Boring, like all the other interviews.
If you're a musician or into the music industry then yes. He's a funny Texan that doesn't give a shit. I liked his attitude and Wiggy even let him tell some stories.
I heard part of it. It actually wasn't bad judging from the half hour or so I got to hear. I'm highly critical, so if it was not interesting, I'd be slamming it. One thing that did suck was I could tell that Howard had no clue and was going off someone else's notes. I've become spoiled listening to Gilbert's podcast because Gilbert and especially Frank do their homework before a guest comes on. After listening to Steve Miller, take a listen to Mark Hudson of The Hudson Brothers. Not as big of a star as Steve Miller, but pretty damned accomplished in music and television. He has either acted in TV and movies, written, performed, and produced music for himself and others (Aerosmith, Bon Jovi, Ringo Starr...etc.) He's also Kate Hudson's uncle. If only Howard's interviews were this good. Lots of behind the scenes stuff and fun stories.
He said "I" and "me" as much as Beth does.
Just listened. One of the better interviews lately. Steve had some greatvtales of the past. Loved his Chuck Berry stuff and his Hammer stories. He seems like someone who didn't take any craps from the record industry. Almost Sammy Hagar-ish in his view of the business.
Ancient history stories from a bitter , angry, narcissisti old man. Came off like a prick in the 85 minute borefest.
