I have questions about airfares. Please help, thanks.
I have had excellent results with Orbitz, but that's the extent of my experience. I usually identify flights there, then go to the airline website itself and buy the ticket for the same price.
I am planning a trip to Florida for what seems to be a bunch of people, I usually go direct to the airlines too. I though given the fact that I am booking some 2 months in advance I would be able to score some sweet pricing on airfare. This however is not the case, it keeps fluctuating from day to day, I even was able to get better pricing on short term travel. What gives here?
I tried Kayak, but it only gave me the same results from like 6 different web sites.
Well it was nice of you to pop by anyhow.
Hey Hal, how are you my friend?
Feeling fine tonight. Got some weed. How are you?
Doing great thank you my friend. You enjoy yourself.
There has to be an agent of travel among us.
yeah, it seems like there is a sweet spot -- too far out, and they have the price high to jack you because you must have specific plans, then you get closer and the plane is empty so they lower the price, then you get right near the trip and they jack you because they know you must be desperate, then at the very very last minute they dump the price -- unfortunately, I have no way to know what the precise tricks are to this
I think that industry has been nearly wiped out with the internet
I don't think there's any such thing as a travel agent any more, though perhaps rich folks have a person to do all the work of this kind for them. I just booked some tickets to California, and the prices changed all over the place over the course of minutes - also quite far in advance. I've taken to driving almost everywhere I want to go in the country, just to let the airlines re-align their stupid business model and quit ripping me off, but sometimes you just have to fly. I always fly to California or Florida. Oh, and, yeah, I have no idea what the answer to your question is, except that you're probably fucked, from flying at all.
Exactly what I was thinking, I just wanted to see if anyone knew when the best time to buy was. I have no idea why they make such a game out of it?
all my travel agent clients went out of bidness by 2002
I always go last minute (or pretty close) and book direct with the airlines, and have no problems. This time however I am looking at buying 8 or 9 tickets, and want to get close to the best price. Do not even get me going on the ridiculous baggage fees the major players are charging.
i think its about 30-45 days max
I guess I meant someone who knows more about travel than I do?
