I've been listening to the '95 shows (because that's the last year Billy was on) and I ran across this. Howard likes to couch his indiscretions with plausible excuses. It's all part of the setup, so that way, when something happens, he's prepared everyone for it.

The excuse for getting an apartment is................Allison SNORES.

He starts singing "Happy days are here again" at the thought of having a downtown apartment. He adlibs some lyrics: "Allison is home and I'm in the city. She's sleeping in her room and I'm doing...<garbled>."

Here's the setup, and the apartment talk starts at 4:00 minutes. (Click on the left side to open a web page if you want to FFWD.)

Alison almost left him early on.

The marriage was probably always fraught with problems.

But that excuse is a total douchebag move.

(She was prolly glad to be rid of him for a while at home :snicker:)

Alison's the only one of the original crowd who truly dgaf about all the nonsense. She never bought into it and still doesn't. She's a class act.
