Reading this made me wonder what I would have done if that was my daughter......

A vigilante attack on a rape suspect will mean a trial for a father and his teenage daughter in California.

The pair, along with a friend of the teenage girl, will face attempted murder and mayhem charges after they allegedly lured a 21-year-old man to a park and beat him with a baseball bat.

Police said 21-year-old Esteban Cruz was lured to a park in Temecula, California, by the 16-year-old girl. She had told her father and a friend, 20-year-old Andre Edwin Dickerson, that Cruz had raped her after she passed out drunk in his bed in Nov.

When Cruz arrived to the park, Dickerson beat him with a baseball bat in a vigilante attack while the father and daughter watched. Cruz suffered skull fractures, broken bones, a lung injury, and lost teeth in the attack.

The girl’s attorney, David Grande, tried to paint Cruz as a predator out for young girls. Grande showed a text message from Cruz asking the girl to drink, smoke marijuana, and have sex with him. When the girl asked why he wanted to have sex with a 16-year-old, Cruz reportedly replied, “It’s the thing I do.

    also this week...

LA PAZ, Bolivia — Villagers in Bolivia’s southern highlands buried a man alive in the grave of the woman he is suspected of having raped and murdered, an official said Thursday.

Police had identified 17-year-old Santos Ramos as the possible culprit in the attack on 35-year-old Leandra Arias Jan

co Sunday in a Quechua community near the municipality of Colquechaca, said Jose Luis Barrios, the chief prosecutor in Potosi province where the community is located.

Enraged, more than 200 community members seized Ramos and buried him alive alongside his alleged victim Wednesday night, according to Barrios. He said residents on Thursday

blocked the road to the community, preventing police and prosecutors from reaching it.

Not in this case because women make up too many rape stories.

She passed out drunk in his bed and he "raped" her...sounds like a 16yr old girl caught drinking and fucking tried gto cover it with the ol rape lie.

the difference between vigilante justice and societal justice is often a few suits of clothing and a piece of paper (and a few lawyers making undeserved money off the dead).

the only problem i see in the first case is that they were sloppy and he wasn't killed. often our legal system is used to add further insult to those injured so that some lawyers can make a few bucks out of their misery while claiming to be upholding some higher ideals. one of the main reasons i have so little respect for lawyers (in the classes i taught there were far more parasitic lawyers than not)

in the Bolivia case, well technically thats not vigilante justice: the society judged him guilty and executed him. we have no right to judge the community there with our own standards.

Ah good question! I don't think there is any answer until a person finds themselves in that situation. Think of the strength that people like Polly Klaus's father had to have to sit in the court room day after day and look at the piece of shit that killed his daughter.
