ITT we teach FTM how to make chili

    That's right Cisco we are using a crockpot.

    Ingredients:

    2 1/2 lbs ground chuck
    3 links italian sausage, chopped up
    2 cans tomato sauce
    2 cans chopped tomatoes with peppers
    chopped tri-pepper mix
    chopped green onion mix
    4 cloves garlic, chopped
    1/2 purple onion, chopped
    1/2 yellow or white onion, chopped
    1 can pinto beans
    1 can kidney beans
    1 can black beans (optional)
    jalapenos, chopped
    2 tbls olive oil
    2 tbls soy sauce
    2 tbls red wine vinegar
    2 tbls brown sugar
    1 tbls worchestershire sauce
    cumin
    coriander
    bay leaves
    terragon
    chili powder or pepper
    paprika

    I brown the ground chuck, drain the excess fat, and then blend in all the ingredients. This will simmer for 8 hours in the pot. At the end, will add a bit of corn starch and flour ( 1 tbls each ). May add some beer or red wine as well.

    Top with grated cheddar and sour cream (pics to come)

    What's Tri-pepper mix? I was going to suggest adding some chopped up bell pepper but it looks like there is some in there.

    I agree Nerd!! I never make it the same way. That chili doesn't look good now, but after a few more hours all the ingredients will marry and prolly be great. Add a habenero to your list to kick it up!

    No offense to OP, that's probably good stuff, but it looks more like soup than chili....a kinda California slant, IMHO...

    Your chili sounds delicious and Nerd put it best when she said that its a subjective thing. Personally, I have four different ways that I make it...Texas style meat chili, Cincinnati style which is mild with a bit of cinnamon, Vegetarian bean chili which is similar to my papa's recipe, and a very basic meat and bean chili similar to what they serve at Wendy's.

    Your recipe sounds really rich and awesome. I would totally come over for dinner. Thank you so much for sharing this. :hug:
