It does start out with his childhood, and takes a couple of chapters to get into the GnR years. He does reference Velvet Revolver early on, so I guess it does have the whole story.

Slash is about 4 or 5 years older than me, and he grew up in LA. I left LA when I was 4, but returned frequently to see family. He grew up close to where I used to live, so there is lots of references that I have seen before.

One of my all time favorite rock bios is the Keith Moon book, 'Moon'.

That dude was a Grade A rock star. He lived it the way it was supposed to be. :cheer:

The first 2 pages in Fieldy stomped his girl out in a bathtub for talking to another dude when they were at dinner with friends

Don't you have some Shepards Pie to cook, or isn't it time to clean the last tooth still in your head?

I remember seeing Korn play a 200 person bar when they first came on the scene with that first album.

That was a fucking good show too.

I read that book, the main issue I have with it is that he painted a picture of how GNR got going that is different from the truth. That was Axl's band from day one, after Tracii Guns got the boot and L.A. Guns reformed, Slash was initially brought in on a trial basis as a live guitarist until Axl found a permanent one. Izzy talked Axl into going with Slash permanently, and it was the right choice, but he inflated his importance in those original demo sessions quite a bit.

I read that one too. I've read many rock books but "Moon" sticks out. Not only was he a grade A rock star, he was certifiable. I didn't realize just how crazy he truly was.
