Watch Jack Black Cover The Doors with Robby Krieger on ‘Conan’

Jack Black may best be known for his hilarious movie roles, but he’s also made it big as one half of the comedy rock duo Tenacious D.

He also has a great affinity for classic rock, and expressed his love for The Doors as a guest on Conan. He proclaims that
Jim Morrison had “the best yell” in rock ‘n’ roll. Several times.

Along with Culture Club’s Boy George, Jack eventually hopped on the stage at Conan’s request and did a cover of The Doors’ “Hello, I Love You.” And in case it wasn’t hammered home enough how staged the whole thing was, Robbie Krieger came out to play the guitar for the song.

Watch the full performance and pre-song banter in the above video.

He's like a guy at a house party that drinks too much and sings too loud to any music playing in the background.
They chose a weak song to sing. There are so many better choices - I guess this was the easiest to perform on short notice.

They should have done an endless version of "The End." Just in case two or more viewers were left.

"Robin, that performance was so organic...I mean, Jack Black and Boy George were soo good and it is hard to believe that they never rehearsed it and it just happened naturally. What surprised me the most was that Robby Krieger just happened to be there.....that is why Conan is so talented. He just surprises people all the time and although TBS had originally wanted me to be their late night host...I think he does a tremendous job. Jack Black was hysterical as always and Boy George is such a talent...I am glad he can live his life as a gay man and be totally open with it. I heard he does have a "beer can"...if you know what I mean. Anything else, Robin?"

Jack Black is another one of those guys whose shtick has completely run its course and needs to go away. Tenacious D is like those embarrassing movies that Lorne Michaels produces where he tries to take a character that is somewhat funny in four minute stretches and build a 90 minute movie around him. Those guys should have stuck to being a one-off novelty act.

Boy George sounded good. He had a lot more presence in his voice than Black and didn't have to turn it into another 'everyone look at me' moment like Jack. He also had that Rob Halford extra gay facial hair thing happening, just in case anyone was starting to forget that he is Boy Fucking George.

Boy George has a fantastic voice.

If you ever listen to that 80s Live Aid tune"Feed the World" Boy George outshines every other performer by far. He is such a better singer than anyone else participating.

Saw Robbie and Ray a few years ago and shot some cool video. The lead singer does a great job of being Jim. Go to 6:20, you won't be disappointed. I sure wasn't!

This is disgraceful on so many different levels. Robby Krieger is way too awesome to be on stage with these guys.
