I just saw the Aurora police chief say that someone called a major media outlet "claiming to be me" after warning people about misusing social media with pranks and such. They may try to make an example out of him, and I believe impersonating a law officer is a crime, even if it's done in jest.

Captain Janks may soon be "inmate Janks".

:jj: :jj: What a dummy. They'd have to extradite him and all that (if it even qualifies as a crime) so I doubt anything will happen, but Janks is still playing with fire.

Never thought Jenks was all that funny...spent an inordinate amount of time to say "Howards Dtern's penis". Lowest common denominator that dude is.

Janks' act is about as fresh as a new Tradio call these days - the Colorado authorities could certainly find better ways to use their resources rather than spending time going after Janks, assuming his stunt violated some law

I always thought Chris, The King Of All Messengers was much more clever.

He didn't say it on the air. Who knows what credentials he gave the call screener?

It's funny how, after the news anchor realizes it's a prank, she says, "Ooookay...that's not...Chief Oates."

As if there even is a "Chief Oates".
