If someone told you today something that was similar to any of the stories of the Bible - the "son of God" born from virgin birth, then rises from the dead, Noah's Ark, talking serpent tempting people with fruit full of knowledge, Jonah living inside a great fish for 3 days, etc - and neither of you experienced or witnessed any of these things first hand, just stories repeated and repeated... what would you think?

You wouldn't believe any of them for a second.

Yet, when we think of Bronze and start of the Iron Age and all the things they didn't know and all the various mythology they believed it, it just seems strange to me that these stories somehow become more credible because they were written from that time period and written by nomadic desert tribes (of all people) - the words sheep, shepherds, goats, ram, lamb, etc, are literally mentioned hundreds of times.

You wouldn't believe them now, yet you believe them solely because they were written, retold and translated over and over again from back then?

"Even though none of these guys witnessed any of this personally (story of Jesus was written 30 - 70 years after his death by people who never met him), these people had all the answers... no question about it", says typical Christian
