Jimi Hendrix played London’s Royal Albert Hall on three occasions at between 1967 and 1969-Firstly sharing the bill with likes of (The) Pink Floyd, The Amen Corner and The Nice and The Move.

When he returned to the venue in February 1969, it was to headline two sold-out nights supported by The Soft Machine.

At the time, tensions had been growing between the band and their management for several months, but these appeared to be put aside for these two concerts. The Royal Albert Hall shows would be remembered as some of The Experience’s best and most successful late performances, and would be there final in Europe.

The event was filmed but due to legal wrangles, it was never been officially released. However, Vimeo user Kurt Max has uploaded Hendrix’s full set (from the Feb 24th) show to his channel, which you can see in the video clip below.

Been playing guitar for 20 years and can certainly hold my own. Every time I see him play I feel like I did when I first picked it up. LOL

His rhythm playing is just beyond exceptional. I heard an isolated guitar track of Watchtower and was blown away at the nuances and timing. Just perfection.

Watched this a couple hours ago. Really awesome. Weird the way the camera man lingered on his crotch at 1:07:19.

12 minutes in and not surprisingly, I'm completely blown away. This is hitting the spot.
    Thank you.

Also helps that I smoked a bowl of Mr Nice Guy right before I checked this board.

I wish they showed him actually playing "Hear My Train" without all of the psychedelic distractions .... otherwise, mind blown.

That's the same thing I've always said about him. Amazing. What a talent.

He sure could play. A shame he had to die so young.

I feel exactly the same way when I see Neil Peart playing.

They're beyond human..... in a good way.

It's amazing that they can still unearth these treasures 46 years after filming. Thanks for posting.
    This was awesome!
