Another recycle. There was an interesting discussion today on Mike and Mike about the number of head coaches who failed at their first job but had successful second stints. There are quite a few.
I think Fox will be a great fit. He will be able to motivate our offense, but has a defensive mindset. Heres hoping we can get that smash mouth offense back we had a handful of years ago.
as long as Cutler is on that team, they will suck
I meant to say he really didn't fail at Denver.
Halfway agree. Cutler has a cannon, and a great receiving core. Im not the biggest fan of him either, but the potential is there.
With the house cleaning at Denver, Peyton may be looking for another team.
I'd be very surprised if Peyton went to another team. He might retire, but if he doesn't I can't imagine him leaving Denver.
I think he is as good as gone. Even if they get Gase, they will still completely rework their offense. I don't think Manning will want to deal with the rigmarole of that. I wouldn't be surprised if he retires, actually.
He will suck unless his contract is up the next year.
I have a theory that about three years ago when the Bears had zero offensive line and he was sacked 75 times or whatever and concussed repeatedly, I think he's getting early onset dimentia.
The only reason that he wouldn't retire is that he doesn't want to have his last season be a black mark like this one was. Now that it comes out that he was hurt, he may still be capable of playing.
how long can you talk about potential? He's a cancer!
see Jeff George
Manning isn't retiring. He will be the starting QB for the Broncos next year.
No thanks. I've seen way more of him than I ever wanted to.
Perhaps potential isn't exactly the word Im looking for...I think what you see is what you get, at this point in his career (in terms of attitude, and style).
The talent is there, as well as the tools to make him successful.
Fox won with Kerry Collins and Jake Delhomme. That's something.
