DALLAS — A Dallas County grand jury has handed down a true bill of indictment against former Cleveland Browns quarterback Johnny Manziel, a person in the district attorney's office told WFAA-TV. The person spoke on condition of anonymity because the indictment had not been announced. The indictment, on a misdemeanor assault charge, is expected to be formally announced Monday.
When this dude was on the browns i couldnt stand his bullshit. Now that he is no longer on the browns, he has become one of my favorite celebs! Looking forward to how this plays out! If he has to actually appear in court, i hope he does the money sign!
That's what I thought. Usually misdemeanors are just filed by citation or a long form complaint directly with the prosecuting agency. The prosecutors must've tried for a felony, but the grand jurors only returned a true bill on a misdemeanor. Class A misdemeanors in Texas are punishable by up to 1-year in a county jail and a $4000 fine.
He'll probably pay off the chick, she won't show for the Trial, case dismissed. Happens all the time... Even if she does show, he's got no prior DV history (that I'm aware of) and it's just a misdemeanor, so he's probably just looking at DV classes, a fine, restitution (if any), and a term of probation... We'll see...
