@JPlaserman recently claimed to have gone into the army at 16 and seen action in the 'Nam. Some guys (@Dream Theater @Drungle , the one who just died) called him out for bullshit. @Slow did a news story on "stolen valor" about it. Anyway this shit was in the back of my mind while I was reading an old thread. Here is what the hard fighting vet Jplaserman had to say: "Can someone help me with this? When I was but a child I entered the military (1977) to be exact. When I first went in I was assigned a weapon, it's butt number was 79 and I carried it daily along with 120 rounds of ammunition strapped to my belt. This weapon did not have a collapsing stock and sported a triangular forearm. I later graduated to K-9 and was issued the C.A.R. version of this same said Colt with a collapsing stock and short pineapple forearm. Neither had a bolt assist on the receiver group. At the time that was considered "old school" What's up with that fellow V.E.T.s clue me in. (You of course see the bolt assist on these weapons)." Seems to me our Asian conflict would have been over by 1977 when he allegedly entered the service. Here's the link: http://www.dawgshed.com/threads/fam...-it-for-civilians.190368/page-4#post-12095537 I only mention this cause it seems really low rent to lie about military service. Plus, he's nutty and might melt.
