While riding my bike near the river. Motherfuckers are mean, especially w/ their new chicks. I blame all the Canadians here for my misfortune.

Thank goodness I didn't get bit, but I nearly was run down a very steep embankment. I was very close to deploying my peeper spray and screwdriver.

Do you guys even have these things up there?

We had one years ago when the kids were little. I had to let her out to clean the cage and she would bite the hell out of me

    Good times

oh yes, millions of them. i've never considered geese to be threatening at all. when i was a little naz, we would go to the park with our stale bread and feed them. mom even let us hand-feed them, cause she was cool like that.

nazzie, why are they so wild and mean down here? I would love to feed and pet them, but I fear for the safety of my daughter and I.

Fun Fact: The proper name of the species is Canada Geese. It sounds funny, but it's true.

I live fairly close to JFK and they have been killing lots of them ever since that American Airlines jet went down in the Hudson from flying through the flock of geese. Or is that a gaggle of geese? Or is gaggle only when they are on the ground? Well anyway, they're dead.

In flight the flock can be called a skein! :c

But of course this is almost never an issue if they're dead.

At my old job, DNR used to come out and inject the eggs w/ poison to kill the babies. I hate those birds, but I found that practice highly disgusting.

I don't believe that is how they do it here. I think they capture them and then take them away and euthanize them.

We watched them do it. It was sad when the mother would come back and sit on the eggs not knowing they were dead.
