Katy, TX - A Texas seventh-grader is standing up for her religious beliefs after she alleges her teacher forced students to deny that God is real, and threatened them with failing grades if they don’t agree.

Jordan Wooley, a seventh grade student at West Memorial Junior High School in the Katy Independent School District, testified at a school board meeting last night about an assignment in her reading class that caused a serious controversy, and expressed frustration about her teacher’s atheist indoctrination.

“Today I was given an assignment in school that questioned my faith and told me that God was not real. Our teacher had started off saying that the assignment had been giving problems all day. We were asked to take a poll to say whether God is fact, opinion or a myth and she told anyone who said fact or opinion was wrong and God was only a myth,” Wooley told board members.

Students immediately objected, Wooley said, but the teacher refused to consider their position.

I'm an atheist. Would never do anything like that. I'm smart.

    It's a stupid thing.

Take a look at the demographics, there is much more to this than simply politics. It could be just a rogue teacher with an agenda.

Wonder why God can't help these kids out by taking a few seconds out of his eternal life to say hi?

Maybe he's busy I guess. Lots of out of the closet gays he has to send to hell or something. Or maybe he's having a hard time keeping track of how many times I whack one out so he can confront me about it when I die.

I bet he's busy formulating a plan to end world hunger and war. That's it. Maybe next time kids.

It's probably a young, newly-minted teacher eager to teach the next generation that Christianity is bad. Not any other religion, just Christianity. All other religions are to be celebrated. It's the whole psychology thing where young people rebel against their parent's beliefs. Makes me glad I was raised agnostic.

Georges Lemaitre, the guy who came up with the Big Bang, was a priest.

Cosmos didn't mention that? Yeah, not surprised.

I hate when little kids are brainwashed in believing religious/God bullshit (like I was) but u can't force anything on anybody, let the kids choose as they get older.

I couldn't make it through the whole video. This is all based on this girls version of events? I wonder if the parents have already contacted a lawyer.
