KC Armstrong hosts what I guess is a local radio show that is also a podcast called KC After Dark. From the title you'd think it would be KC and his scummy friends talking about scummy topics.

    But no:

"On KC’s daily show, he focuses on interviewing professional and women entrepreneurs through all their obstacles and struggles to be the successful women they are today."

    What the fuck?

KC was one of the best of all time on the Stern show. His staff games and confession games were great. I still listen to them at night.

KC was great. One of the many major assets to the show that Howard took for granted and let go. In Howard's mind, Howard, Robin and Fred have always been the Stern show and it's great as long as they are there. They were never even the best parts of the show and now are completely bankrupt in providing entertainment. I'm realizing the Stern universe was created more with luck than design. Howard wasn't even visionary enough to hold onto greatness. As soon as anything got a little wobbly, he dropped you. Not smart enough to realize that's going to eventually leave him in a room of completely boring, predictable and unfunny shitheads. Unfortunately for the lost misfits of the HSS, they aren't very useful elsewhere.

I find it hard to believe Howard didn't have the power to keep him with the show, but even if that's true, he could've gotten KC back with the show at Sirius. He even mentioned maybe doing that in the very beginning at Sirius, but that was just him patronizing the fans who were asking for it. Yes, I know he's crazy. Most of the best Stern players were.

Howard could have let KC back, or anyone back for that matter. But he was smart not to.

KC was suffering from mental illness. Back in 2006 I hung out with him in LA for a while. He took me up tp Johnny Fratto's apartment, which is a story in itself. KC was into taking apart computers and gadgets and putting them back together. I would get texts from him at all hours about how upset and depressed he was. He was not in a good way.

Eventually I stopped hearing from him and I really though he wasn't long for this world.

I hope he's turned things around, and is doing well with this show. It seems like a very bizarre thing, but more power to him.

On the other hand, KC hasn't hurt anyone or done any major damage. Being back with the show may have given him something that would've made his life better and therefore maybe he wouldn't have been so depressed. Depends on what was driving his depression at that time. You'd know better than I, though, obviously. But I do have personal experience with fucking up one's life because of mental illness and then being stuck in a constant depression dealing with the life that mental illness sourced failure has caused. I still very much deal with depression and anxiety, but the majority of it is now caused by the life I'm left with and the thoughts of what could have been. I dream of the chance to somehow find my way back in. For all we know, being back with the show would've been all KC needed. Or maybe it wouldn't have helped shit and he'd have been fired again. I think it would've been worth the shot for in the interest of the show and KC. Sure, any regular show would've fired him and never looked back, but this was the Howard Stern Show. It was all about crazy and interesting people. Turns out Howard's a bigger pussy than anyone. Rebel, Rebel. Right. Bottom line is KC was good to and on the show for a number of years and deserved a 2nd chance. If not on FM, at least once they went to Sirius.

Well, also he said there were problems with HR. He'd had an affair with Ann Marie and some of the interns.
