Kevin's Smith's Most Famous Duo Return in 'Jay and Silent Bob: Chronic Blunt Punch' Beat 'em Up
Posted Tue Feb 23, 2016 at 09:38 AM PST by Brian Hoss [IMG]
    Not in pog form.

With both Kevin Smith and Jason Mewes on board, Interabang Entertainment is developing a game around Jay and Silent Bob. The game, 'Jay and Silent Bob: Chronic Blunt Punch' is beat 'em up (or in very modern terms, 'Castle Crasher' style brawler), and the setting sees Jay and Silent Bob trapped inside in a mega super shopping mall a la the animated 'Clerks' series.

Naturally, the game will offer cooperative play. Current platforms plans include PC and Mac, but the PS4 and Xbox One are possibilities.

As of this morning, 'Jay and Silent Bob: Chronic Blunt Punch' is currently the part of funding project over at Fig.co, and the funding goal is $400,000. The campaign allows for both traditional backer rewards as well as the Fig investment structure. (See the campaign here.)

    From Interabang Entertainment,

In Jay and Silent Bob: Chronic Blunt Punch, players get into a tag team combo fight fest and wreak havoc on their foes with fists, feet, and the magic of self-esteem-destroying jibes while embarking on a mission to find their long-lost pot customers trapped in an Orwellian mega super shopping mall. The mall turns out to be a Utopian labyrinth with apartments, restaurants, hospitals and everything that a post-World War II nuclear bunker would contain—with a candy coating of fun.

Jay and Silent Bob: Chronic Blunt Punch is a colorful side-scrolling 2.5D, over-the-top multiplayer tag-team brawler whose action escalates as the player travels deeper into the mall of purgatory. The team is creating the narrative through environment, design, combat and a new conversation combat system called the Convo Combo mode. This mechanic changes the dynamics of enemy showdowns through cutting insults combined with an intricate facial animation system that bonds dynamic fighting with timed phrase matching. This delivers a completely different kind of storytelling experience. Jay and Silent Bob: Chronic Blunt Punch also includes co-op play, where players finish each other’s combos, and create havoc in the world’s largest mall.

Maybe not. Dollar-wise he's not exactly been batting above the Mendoza line with his last few string of flicks.

I'm so fucking tired of these God damn Kickstarter campaigns and especially for ass holes with far more money than I'll ever see in my life time. You want to make the game you mother fucker? Pay for it yourself.

I don't understand where the disconnect is. If I want it, I'll buy it. I'm not putting money down for "special prizes" and all the other nonsense that comes with this nonsense. Fucking lame.

Smith's game would have to be marketed to a select demographic of middle aged stoners. ps4 and xbox promoting a game called bluntman and chronic? Good luck.

That's because his movies suck. The only good one was Clerks, and even that is stretching it. Smith was a product of being in the right place at the right time.

The first Clerks was good. I have no idea why he's a personality. He's a bore.
