A great vacation spot, highly recommended. Thanks to those who suggested places. Had a great time, no pics forthcoming because most of them have pics of people I know in them.

No rain, great bars, great sailing. This is the beginning of their slower season so while there were still lots of people there it wasn't super crushed. You could always find a seat to catch a band without having to wait 30 minutes.

Again, thanks to those who gave me suggestions on places to go. I tried them all, pretty much

Depends on what you define as weird. None really but someone has to be threatening to really be weird to me. A fair number of big drag queens, the standard Darth Vader playing the banjo stuff that you see in any tourist area. I saw almost no visible police which was nice. I'm sure there was plenty of uc types but they were very low profile.

Hemingways House is worth seeing. It's only 13 bucks and a super easy walk. I also enjoyed the Green Parrot but really all the places are right there to walk to.

Some recommended getting a car or scooter but I'd suggest waiting before doing that. You can easily walk anywhere or a cab is very inexpensive. Driving and in particular parking seemed like a big pain in the ass. I basically stayed right off Duval and there were dozens of places to go within a mile.

I love it there. Key West is one of my favorite places.
Next time I go there, I want to stay at The Gardens. It's so beautiful and peaceful there. Also very romantic.

I usually stop about half way, a 3 hour ride. Islamorada has a few clean cheap places to stay. Good food in the area. Then cruise on down to KW the next morning.

Yeah, there are several bars that cater to that clientele, but they mostly are there to be in their activities. You could see them look right through people not into their lifestyle, not even noticing them-just seeking each other out.
