thoughts? concerns? tribulations?
yep. confirmed and affirmed.
Ray's writing can rival anyone's, imho. I have been a crazed fan of theirs for years. I saw them dress up as schoolboys and have seen the Davies brothers fistfight. All in all a wacky and fun group! When Dave's songwriting became a little more out front to me, I was totally impressed. I have no impartiality when it comes to Kinks stuff
Beatles. Hmm. Who doesn't love them? Well, the younger set maybe aren't so fond of them. The also wrapped up their whole legacy by the early '70's, so some things are left undone.
People will think I am crazy but I think maybe I am gonna say Kinks>Beatles. I reserve the right to change it when it isn't the middle of the night and I am more awake!
God save the Kinks
dont be stupid ya moron...
Zeppelin > Stones > Beatles
beatles were indeed great. but the kinks were greater.
Muswell Hillbillies is a kick ass album. But to each their own....when songwriting and bands are that good and in the elite club who cares who is better? The Kinks are in the top ten bands of all time. Pick a favorite and you'd be right.
btw: drunk thread-making is an awesome idea.
The beatles are great... until you realize they spawned all the shitty pop music today. That should definitely count against them
The Kinks aren't even better than the Eagles.
Check this out:
at first, i only knew the Beatles 'pop songs', then after listening to their albums, i figured out i hate their pop songs, their other shit is 100X better.
fooking love that song. makes me depressed and happy at the same time. always a true sign of genius songwriting/execution.
PP are you really a girl? CP said you were, but ive never known a girl to know as much history as you
no. ha hah ha haa!
but cp is in fact a trans-gendered asian omni-whore.
I'm on a Kinks kick now...listening to Destroyer and Superman...you know all that shit...and you can't beat Lola.
Nice! Shows you, Ray was thinking when it wasn't even known you could convey thoughts other than love stuff in songs from the pop and rock era back then. Dylan was the thinker, other folk singers were serious. The Davies brothers were clever.
just check the brow ridge. i never look at peoples throats, but teh jaw and eyebrows do not lie
