That first line by the superficial writer basically sums up my thoughts on most (celebrity) charities. Sam Simon is absolutely right. Just donate your money to the institutions in need.

And you gotta love this mission statement......

Yeah, I was reading this in the paper the other day. 95% of charities are all bullshit. They just make money for themselves with the remaining money after fees and bills, even if they say the opposite.

The "President" of the NSAL probably gets more than the animals:c. My guess is, building, feed, care, etc is already taken care of by rich philanthropists donations and all the middle class, lower class donations goes into their pockets. That's what I have heard in the sports world. NSAL never came up in talks but some of the athlete/celebrity "charity" places are all BS with the money.

The A-Rod charity was pretty bad too.

A lot of these charities seem like blatant tax fraud and slush funds for the rich and famous.

it's up to the government to investigate scam charities and indict those responsible to the misappropriation of money.

I've read where NSAL only takes cash donations. No food or pet supplies. Not even pet supply gift cards.

I'd guess it's most likely they get their pet food and supplies direct from manufacturers -- who take big tax write offs.

So, all cash donations to NSAL go to salaries and admin & overhead costs. It all probably doesn't fit the technical definition of a scam, but it is bullshit.

Far from being bullshit...and fore from being BS/(bullshit).

    HS has/had no "secretive" charities?
HS isn't involved in a few group funding "projects"?

OK...if you say so.......but I tend to think that even you might have more than a few doubts regarding your own "doubts".
Which angle might lean towards making a little more.."cents"?

    "No one cares anymore"?
I have my own lingering doubts regarding all/sum of that.
