"Sparingly"… sure, just like SWAT teams are used sparingly these days. Within 2 years they'll use them for everything.

Even the people in the extreme liberal bastion of Seattle were furious when their police department purchased drones a couple years ago. Something you can unite most liberals and conservatives alike is the notion of having privacy stripped away.

    Stripped away?
There are many here on this forum that have no problem with The Patriot Act, as long as it keeps them "safe". :endit:

I was watching documentaries all morning and saw something completely unbelievable. The US government doing testing on its own citizens without their knowledge? Check this out when you have the time.

and there are others who wonder how hard it would be to hit one with a 12 gage as it's flying by at top speed.

That is a consideration. I bet the penalty for shooting down a drone will be death.

there was a instance in Tallahassee where a commuter plane hit a private drone.
The FCC is gonna get invovled, I hope it doesn't hurt private pilots and cause them to clamp down on non commercial aviation.

X-ray vans, drones, MRAPs and soon they'll have devices that can turn off smart phones.

    I feel safer already.

I think you mean the FAA. But yes, the FCC will have to give them a frequency to operate on.

I can't wait until hackers get ahold of them.

I saw that many years ago. Very troubling but that video only scratches the surface. If the American people knew exactly what was going on there would be mass panic.

"But we're getting the MRAPS and Humvees for free!" And then we get into the 5 figure conversion costs on all these "strapped budgets". But we get to pay for it.

Time for a reach around or some Vaseline or something...
