Have had my laptop now for a few years, so it is time. Looking for a new laptop that I can use and play games like WoW/Starcraft on also. Looking to spend $700 or less. Yes I know a desktop would be better, but I like to take my computer with me, so that is why I am looking for another laptop. I have a toshiba satellite that has treated me very well, but it is definitely getting outdated fast.

I know nothing about computers, so any help is appreciated :)

Go on amazon and read reviews on laptops in your price range

    Depend on the sale....

Be sure you do not buy something with an old processor. ..you want the latest. ..

Also the more ram the better....
New computers have Windows 10 which is a great OS...

Have a look at another Toshiba and defiantly the ASUS laptops, ASUS is knows for quality hardware. I've had good experience with Sony too, but I don't know how they've been as of late.

I've had a couple HP's, nice options, but hit or miss with quality and dependability.

If you go that route vs amazon/newegg, you have an option to go there in person if you need to. Assuming you a have a Microcenter near you. :grad:
its a variety, I just filtered for DELL + win7Hpr + laptops. I didnt filter for price, but 700 bucks is going to leave you somewhat limited, not that it isnt alot of money

It's a great computer store. They may have a few refurbished but mainly new stuff. I'm about 6 miles from one.

Beleive it or not, there are some really good deals at the Microsoft store. If you are gaming make sure you get an i7 processor, 8 gigs or ram and at good sized SSD. I think all of the laptops use an integrated video card which is not great for gaming but should do the job if you buy a modern fast processor.

google "gaming laptops" and it will bring up a lot of comparison tests. Unfortunately $700 may be a little under what the better ones cost.

I have an Alienware 14" with some screen and storage upgrades and it was $1400 a year ago. Plays War Thunder at 48 fps. Those start at about $1000.

I'm at the moment using a laptop I found stuffed in a garbage can. I brought it home, put a new screen on it, Upped the memory and hard drive and added a Blu-Ray burner...and loaded windows 8 on it.
