I hate to ask this, but can someone do me a huge favor and read over these specs to give me an opinion? My OLD laptop has been in repair hell, so I am going to be able to get a new one. I want to be as informed as I can when I choose the replacement, but I know just enough to get myself in trouble.

Below are the specs for my OLD machine, side by side with what I think would be a comperable replacement. The first on is my choice, but I also included a second, smaller version that I'm sure they will try and stick me with. Both choices are side by side with my OLD specs.

Am I on the right track as far as "comperable", or does it look like I'm shooting too low/high? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks!

P.S.- Fuck you Chriza and Schmoopy, I know you aint readin this shit.:jj:

Agreed with this. HP has a tendency to overheat. I prefer Asus or even Dell over HP.

Hmm... Really? I'm not stuck to HP by any means, I was just trying to compare apples to apples. It looks like BB doesn't have any Lenovas close.

i have an i3 chip, and it is great for the stuff i do with it

your first choice would be mine as well -- it looks like there isnt wimax, if that is important -- i prefer an external 4g modem anyway

i have been ordering stuff online for pickup -- the people u deal with make almost no effort to sell u warranties

The minute I boot up a new computer I use Revo Uninstaller to remove every trace of the preinstalled crap.

There is even a program (I think T@H mentioned it to somebody) call PC De-Crapifier. http://pcdecrapifier.com/
