Anyone seen this video before? It was filmed by a friend of mine in the early 2000s and he's driving a 1996 VW Jetta 2.0L also spot the rollcage in the rear view mirror.
It was shot in Montreal Canada starting at Fairview shopping centre to Montreal International airport. I had the same car we were governed at 193 km (120 miles).

The camera was a early digital on tripod strapped to the backseat. Video had to spead up because it couldn't be compressed in those days to run regular speed.

Street racing had gotten very popular than and the street were a free for all very much like the first Fast and Furious movie.

On a related note, GoPro stock is down over 75% in the last year. Sounds like the economy is fixed. Go buy a camera.

I felt like it would have been scored with the Wacky Sax Bennie Hill theme.

That looks like a regular Quebec commute to me. They all race around that province like their crotches are on fire and they need to find water.

Until they come into Ontario, then they like to get into the passing lane on the 401 and do 105 and refuse to move over.

That's the problem nowadays, nearly everyone has turned into their parents worried about "what if" and are so serious about everything.

Fortunately I'm as idiotic as I was 30 years ago and have seen no reason to change. I have driven similar to that (and a lot worse on my motorcycle) and have never had an accident.

Driving fast is fun for a lot of people (or why would they make fast cars) although a lot of people are scared of other drivers and feel just because they themselves are crap drivers that everyone else is as well.

Driving is a strange thing, most people will admit if they aren't good at a sport or aren't good at maths or a number of other things but no one will admit they are crap drivers.

There's always one asshole this on the or 400 or 401 in Toronto as well. Last year I saw 5 cars racing each other across the 401, dude in a black Escalade passed me at least at 160km/h, I saw him coming up behind me and braced to be about to be rear ended...I could of reached out and touched his car he so close

So when I signal, check my mirrors and shoulder check to change lanes its clear, then as I'm about t change lanes some douchebag like you swings across two lanes from out of nowhere and takes the spot I'm about to change into. If you want to race go to a fuckinrg track.

I was in a motorcycle accident in November with a17 year old kid driving his moms car. If I was going really fast, I'd be dead.
Feel free to speed. Just remember there are consequences. You have an accident, you will be charged with reckless driving and get your ass sued. Just like the kid and his monmmy.
    Have a nice day.

Splitting lanes yeah that's reasonable... zig zagging through traffic yeah that's reasonable... I love people think they are "great drivers".. It has nothing to do with that. I'll take a driving course against anyone. I can fly a plane, boat, trailer anything and raced sport bikes.. I even did the skip barber racing school... The difference is I did it in a controlled environment.

As a driver have no control over what happens on the road. Hitting a pot hole, tire tread, loose gravel, passing on the left and getting pitted by another car, someone turning left , etc.. all cause others to wreck... That's compete disregard.

Feh. Its easy to make time when your highways are half-empty like that. I dare your friend to drive like that on the Long Island Expressway or the Brooklyn-Queens Expressway during the morning rush. He wouldn't get 100 yards before hitting stopped traffic.
