Clinton leads Trump by 12 points ahead of Republican convention: Reuters/Ipsos poll
NEW YORK | By Grant Smith and Chris Kahn

Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump trailed Democratic rival Hillary Clinton by 12 percentage points in a Reuters/Ipsos poll released on Friday, making him the clear underdog ahead of next week's Republican National Convention.

Forty-five percent of likely voters supported former Secretary of State Clinton, 33 percent supported Trump, the wealthy businessman, and the remainder supported neither, according to the July 11-15 online poll.

The survey showed little change from Tuesday, when Clinton had led Trump by 13 percentage points.

Clinton has been ahead in the poll since early January. Trump only approached her level of support in May, after his last two remaining rivals quit the race and he became the presumptive Republican nominee.

Trump's favorability has dropped since then, as his campaign began to focus on the Nov. 8 general election.

Trump has faced criticism in recent weeks over his now-defunct Trump University venture, which is accused of making false promises, and over his anti-immigrant and anti-Muslim rhetoric.

The poll results were mostly gathered before Thursday night's deadly truck attack in Nice, France, and before Trump's announcement on Friday that Indiana Governor Mike Pence would be his vice presidential running mate.

The poll results suggest that Clinton’s use of personal email for government business while secretary of state and her handling of classified information have not damaged her support among likely voters.

But other polls show a closer race.

The CBS News/NY Times telephone poll has the candidates tied at 40 percent each, while a McClatchy/Marist telephone poll has Clinton leading by just 3 percentage points, 42 percent to Trump’s 39 percent.

Trump may get a bump in the polls following next week's convention in Cleveland, where the party is expected to rally behind him as the nominee. In 2012, support for Republican nominee Mitt Romney rose about 5 percentage points following the convention that year.

The Democratic convention is set for the following week, opening July 25 in Philadelphia

California woman's rape lawsuit against Donald Trump resurfaces in New York court
    (Jae C. Hong/AP)
    BY Leonard Greene
    NEW YORK DAILY NEWS
    Monday, June 20, 2016, 9:25 PM
A bizarre lawsuit involving a California woman’s charge that Donald Trump raped her when she was an underage teen have resurfaced, this time in a Manhattan Federal Court.

Trump, the Republicans’ presumptive presidential candidate, has already denounced the allegations once as “categorically false” and “disgusting.”

But the lawsuit — dismissed by a Los Angeles Federal Court judge last month — has new life and the backing of a new lawyer, although some of the salacious charges have been dropped.

Gone from the new lawsuit is an allegation that Trump threw money at the plaintiff for an abortion when she expressed fear about getting pregnant after being raped. Gone, too, is the allegation that Trump called co-defendant and accused pedophile and sex party host Jeffrey Epstein a “Jew bastard,” and her request for $100 million in damages.

But the complaint’s core allegations remain unchanged, that Trump and Epstein sexually assaulted an underage girl at a series of Manhattan sex parties Epstein hosted in 1994.

“Immediately following this rape, Defendant Trump threatened me that, were I ever to reveal any of the details of Defendant Trump’s sexual and physical abuse of me, my family and I would be physically harmed if not killed,” the plaintiff said in an affidavit.

Alan Garten, vice president and general counsel of the Trump Organization, said the allegations were “categorically untrue, completely fabricated and politically motivated.”
Epstein has also denied the allegations. Epstein is alleged to have preyed on dozens of underage girls in the late 1990s and early 2000s, but pleaded guilty to soliciting a minor in just one case in 2008.

The woman’s lawyer, Thomas Meagher, said the original suit, which she filed without the help of an attorney, was dismissed because it cited statutes that did not apply to the case.

The lawsuit says the woman remains traumatized by the abuse. She says that since Trump launched his campaign and received mass media coverage, she has been “subjected to daily painful reminders of the horrific acts.”

Trump hasn't been charged with any crime.

Maybe he'll sue you for libeling him like this.

Lol, no that's Hillary who hasn't been charged with any crimes. I guess she should sue him for libeling for calling her crooked.

Check your taxes next year. When you get angry you lost most of your hard earned money....realize who you backed and got suckered into. The middle class and poor foot the bill for the rich and their cheap overseas companies. You know, the ones who actually put up the BIG money during the campaigns. The rich don't even vote! :snicker:

CNN's Thursday poll has it a dead heat with Hillary's credibility taking a hit on how she botched emailgate. Just started a detailed thread on that. http://www.dawgshed.com/threads/rel...e-exonerated-hillary-but-public-hasnt.193355/

Considering that CNN's polling is at the least as accurate as Reuters, if not more so based on relative biases - there's too much of a differential on Reuters to believe its accuracy.

Reuters has consistently shown Clinton with a much larger lead than other polls. All these polls are off compared to ten years ago, but Reuters appears to polling differently than everyone else. I wish I knew why their numbers are far off from everyone else's.

Polls mean nothing at this stage of the game.
The poll taken a day before the election is the only meaningfull one.
However, Trump if nominated has no chance of beating Hillary.
Lets just hope the Republicans figure out a way to dump this goofey clown at the convention and put up a real candidate.

    but they base accuracy on past luck. or worse;
if one correctly guessed a dice roll would be 2, id still trust the person more who wrongly guessed 7.

Exactly, a dope like Ving doesn't realize you have to read into the poll not just look at the numbers, Rasmussen does the same just skewed towards republicans.

I'm sure Ving would bash a survey from them.

    Poor ving, he never wins.

Polls are largely inaccurate now a days. Who answers their phone anymore, or more specifically, who answers a call from a number they don't know? Brexit is a great example of how close polls are useless.

I've been reading that Trump wanted to back out of his decision to select Pence as his running mate and called his top aides at midnight to see if he could get out of it. Who did he want instead? Gingrich maybe? They already pulled the new logo Trump/Pence log from their website but that may have been in response to people goofing on it. I thought it looked okay
