OK, I lied. He's not officially Lebron's daddy (does the community even keep such records? I kid), but he sure as hell looks like he could be.

    • James Harris, 56, had lived three doors down for victim in Philadelphia
    • Said to have snuck into her home and attacked while he called her mother

A Philadelphia man has been charged with rape and murder after sneaking into her apartment and allegedly attacking her while she was talking to her mother on the phone.

Harris, 56, who police described as a 'monster', had been a maintenance man in the building and is said to have waited in the home for thirty minutes before his victim Jasmine Wright, 27, got home.

Her mother was reportedly able to hear bits of the July 15 attack on the young woman who recently graduated from Drexel University School of Public Health.

Harris was previously served time in prison for the 1982 killing of his own father, who was found beaten with gunshot wounds in his head.

Wright was a recent graduate of public health school and was on the phone with her mother before a struggle was heard and the phone went dead

He was convicted of voluntary manslaughter in the case and his brother said that Harris served five years in prison.

The suspect had previously been charged with robbery and criminal trespass in the case before Friday's more serious charges, according to the Philadelphia Daily News.

Police say that he lived three doors down from Wright before being evicted a week prior to the incident.

The owner of the building never got keys back from the maintenance man, who had lost his job after failing to take out the trash, according to NBC Philadelphia.

The suspect had worked as a maintenance man in the building where Wright lived and the owner had never received his keys back following his eviction

It is not known if he had keys to get into individual apartments or how he is thought to have entered his former neighbor's.

Wright, who had done health work in West Africa, had just come home from working out before the attack and her mother is said to have heard the beginning of the struggle before the call went dead.

Harris is said to have beaten and strangled his victim before moving her to the bed and trying to cover up his tracks with bleach.

However, investigators were able to find DNA on the scene that led them to Harris because of his extensive criminal record.

Philadelphia Homicide Captain James Clark said that he was a 'monster' and 'career criminal' who had 31 prior arrests.

The suspect has prior convictions for assault, trespassing and gun offenses among others.

Harris, whose name on Facebook was 'James Camp', had posted on Wright's social media page and said he was 'All in. For you'.

Philadelphia Homicide Captain James Clark said that Harris was a 'monster' and 'career criminal' who should be kept off the streets

He had 2002 charges of statutory sexual assault of a 15-year-old, rape and corruption of a minor dropped.

Police have not identified a motive, and said that Harris is not being cooperative with their investigation, according to 6ABC.

However, some have speculated that he became obsessed with his alleged victim after seeing that he was Facebook friends with her and what he had commented on her posts.

Wright had posted an inspirational quote saying, 'One day someone is going to hug you so tight that all of your broken pieces stick back together'.

'U are so right.smile,' Harris said in response. He also said 'All in,' along with a picture of roses and the words 'For you'.

Well, hopefully this time he'll be rehabilitated. Fingers crossed.

First, how the hell did this "career criminal" get this kind of job, where he has access to every apartment in the building? And, how does the landlord NOT get the keys back? And, if he didn't, why the hell weren't ALL the locks in the building changed?!
How the hell does THAT happen?! What kind of morons are in charge of criminal cases there?!
Oh...well, 5 years seems sufficient for murder.

This whole story makes me sick.

I'm absolutely stunned that a person could be arrested 30 times AFTER murdering someone, and not be in prison.

Our system is definitely racist, but not against black males. This guy apparently could get away with nearly anything.

Sorry, all I can think of is that somewhere some Baptist family is quietly disapproving of a gay couple.
