I asked this question sometime back but i never bought a TV. Well, I am ready now but not sure what is the best TV for the money. I'm not looking to spend 2k on a TV now.

Plasma is so 5 years ago.

LED is the way you want to go.

Don't listen to this tard. Plasma was down for a short period but it's the better tech now.

My dad's 65" rptv is on it's last legs so I've been researching my ass off. This was THE best article I found that explained every single thing.

That being said, I would recommend LED over plasma. The prices of LED and LCD are insanely low, and the picture quality if out fucking standing.

THAT much we haven't figured out yet. He's waiting to see what the deal is with his current TV, and then what insurance will pay. He lost the TV and HD-DVR in a thunderstorm a week or so ago. Even WITH a surge protector.

One tip that I'm sure you already know, I always shop in person in a store to see it, and then buy online cheaper. Usually you can find the TV's MUCH cheaper thru Amazon, and if you get their Prime membership for 70 or 80 bucks you get free 2 day shipping for a year, on most stuff.

I've had an LG brand LCD tv for about 6 yrs now...no problems so far.

My buddy got a Vizio and that shit got a black line across the screen within a year or two.
