But only doing an interview. The Kennedy center is honoring them for their years of drug abuse, whoring and general debauchery.

Maybe Gary can book them on the show while they are in town.....

Yeah, but you're from Canadia, that doesn't count. I'm only asking real people.

Howard and Fa Fa Flunkie discussed several times whether or not to have jimmy Page & John Paul Jones, two of the members of the greatest, most influential rock band ever on the show, but they passed. America's Judge knows that his audience wouldn't be interested.

In all honesty, I would be interested in hearing them be interviewed, but not by Howard.
And Mike, I was only kidding about the Canadia thing.

Boy, that's got "snoozefest" written all over it: two miserable old English cunts being interviewed by grumpy old heart-condition Dave.

Zep really didn't honor their legacy as much as they should have. It's nowhere near Howard territory, but all I heard from that reunion gig was how relieved they all were to be done with it. At least fake it, ya fucks! They've got way too many ace tunes to be miserable about playing them.

I dig how the Stones are going out, giving us an excellent new doc or concert film every year.

and maybe I can have a 3some with Jessica Alba and Mila Kunis next week....

Yea Howard has no chance here, I forget Howard is D-list celeb on here. Dave will get a nice ratings pop, Howard will complain to an audience of geriatrics

I have as much interest in a Led Zeppelin interview by Letterman (or the self-proclaimed "world's greatest" interviewer) as I do in seeing the 50th anniversary Rolling Stones tour. Jesus, give it up already!

I saw the London arena show on DVD, they were surprisingly good. I noticed though, Jimmy fingers are showing signs of aging. Robert was 87-90% as good as his peak, and JPJ was as good as ever. My biggest complaint from the London Arena show was Jason on drums. His drumming was so overbearingly loud and thunderous. We get it, your Bonzos son stop trying so hard to show everyone how hard you hit the drums. Overall great show though.

It be great if they did a little acoustic number on Letterman, like Going to California or Thank you. I highly doubt it.

But isn't that exactly the way John Bonham played?

Bonzo is arguably the greatest rock drummer of all time. Robert is one of the most influental vocalists ever and Jimmy is always listed as a top 10 guitarist. So you obviously dont know what your talking about.

I'm sure the original guys can still play. I was speaking about the collective attitude. The way they were talking about that London gig you'd've thought they were going in for a collective prostate exam.

And yeah, they never moved on from losing Bonzo. It's weird, because you look at the Stones, and all of their three "other" guitars fit like a glove, and they didn't miss a beat.

Then you look at The Who, and you had Roger Daltry openly bad-mouthing Moon's replacement, Kenny Jones.

It must be a drummer thing. :dontknow:

I understand that Bonham and Moon were irreplaceable, but there are thousands of brilliant drummers on the scene. Adjust things a little bit and make it work, fellas!

Throw in a "Hey Hey What Can I Do?" and you've got yourself a deal.

i was referring to the current band members. i agree john was great. he didn't just play loud as frredrogers is asking. he varied it, he was a less is more drummer, not a show off drummer like the kid.
they are influential because they were the first and best heavy metal band, not because of their instrument skills. (this is a poor example, but the ramones were infuencial too, and any 13 yr old can copy them)
page is listed as best guitarist because people love the band, and he's the guitarist. hes innovative and a great writer, but hes sloppy.
i doubt anyone would ever hire him as a studio guitarist.
i hate to dis zep, they are of the greatest bands ever, i just hate the "best guitarist" label. there are many thousands better. that goes for EC as well

Page was one of the most successful studio guitarists ever. He's played on hundreds of songs.

If you're under 40 years old, do you have any idea of who/what Led Zep was?

The band made the brilliant decision to disappear and not sell their music on iTunes.
