What's Eating Gilbert Grape.
Cept he went full retard. @Schmoopy @nextlevel
Has he starred in a snuff film yet?
Gangs of New York...
What are your 5?
What's Eating Gilbert Grape is by far his best role in terms of pure acting plausibility. It was post Growing Pains and he needed to get as far away from the type cast as possible.
That said, I just can't take him seriously as a Hollywood brat, man-child adult actor. I thought his younger early to mid 90s parts (This Boys Life, WEGG) suited him much better. When he plays a fully formed grown up tough guy or gets angry - it's laughably implausible and emasculating.
His choices are very thoughtful and noble - as well as getting to work with the best of the best directors. But to me - he just looks like a directors/producers forced and lazy miscast man-child 9 out 10 times.
Titanic? More like Gaytanic.
Shutter Island. Good movie with a great ending.
Which movies did he get a best actor nomination?
Blood Diamond the accent was awesome and Wolf
Gilbert Grape best supporting.
