That wouldn't matter if the maps themselves were good, but they suck ass compared to Google's offering.

    Same area:

    Google maps

    Apple maps

Have fun with your new AMAZING, BEST EVER, MOST BEAUTIFUL AND FANTASTIC new gay-ass toys.

I love how Apple fans always have an excuse and dismiss problems like it's nothing.

I like how Android people have to constantly try to compare their phone to an Apple instead of just shutting the fuck up and enjoying their awesome phones.

it is a minor inconvenience since most people use Tomtom or Navigon (Garmin). Apple provides regular and free OS updates that improve and enhance the functioning over the complete lifetime of the device, unlike Droids which are totally dependent upon the carrier customizing OS updates when and if they choose to release them regardless of when Google makes them available.

most of the issues with Apple's maps currently are outside of the US.

i think its an area for them to improve. currently they are using data from Tomtom and Openmaps which are not as complete as Google's, partly because unlike Google they do not violate any country's privacy laws as does Google.

The only bad thing about using the maps on any phone is the drain on the battery. So you have to have it plugged in and both my bionic and my iphone heat up when plugged in and using maps.

The one nice thing about google maps is you can plan your route on your computer, drag and change the route to hit any little thing you want, once you have the trip you want, click a button and it automatically sends it to your phone.

    Bullshit. Everyone uses Google Maps.

You can root Android devices and install whatever version you want on them. XDA-developers is filled with tons of different mods for all the popular phones. You can even install Linux on most of them if you want to.

Yes, because the average consumer who buys a phone wants to root it.
