A bruised and bandaged Harry Reid appeared back at work in the U.S. Capitol Tuesday, just in time for President Obama’s State of the Union address. The Nevada Democrat was spotted making his way to the Senate floor, after the weekly Democratic Party policy luncheon, bearing a heavily bruised faced and sporting a big bandage across his right eye. The 75-year-old said he was “doing better” Tuesday but would follow doctors’ orders to take it easy and wouldn’t be attending the State of the Union address. An aide to Reid told the Associated Press that the Minority Leader would likely watch the address on television. Reid was seriously injured New Year’s Day in an accident while he was using exercising equipment at home. Harry Reid returns to Capitol after exercise injury KTNV - Las Vegas, NV Reid’s office revealed earlier this month that he sustained the injury after a resistance band he was using during a home workout snapped and hit him in the face, causing him to fall. Reid, who has said he could end up permanently losing sight in his right eye because of the injury, suffered several broken ribs and broken bones in his face in the tumble and was hospitalized for a day of treatment. Tuesday was the Minority Leader’s first day back following the gruesome injuries.
