Great show. Devito was hilarious. First time I ever spanked it was to Marilu Henner. There's a scene where Reverend Jim father dies. He puts his fathers suit on an easy chair and plays a tape of "Sunshine of my Life". Such an incredible scene. Gets me every time.
Greatest character in TV history.
Hang in there...
Good list. Not a redeeming quality among them. That's what made them great.
Tanner from "Bad News Bears"
My vote is for Rev Jim as the Greatest Character in TV History, but I can't really argue with anyone putting Louie up there.
He was great too. I just loved Louie's evilness. Jim was a little too nice for me. Hilarious though. The episode where he took his driver's test was the best.
Yeah, that is a great scene.
Classic DePalma...great avatar by the way...Slapshot...great hockey movie.
Damn, she is so fetching.
It happens at 3:55 - I'd forgotten about this episode, so I watch the whole thing. Well worth waiting for.
This show was ahead of it's time. It's like there was too much talent on it to be contained in a TV set.
Thanks for the chuckle.
When you look at the comparison to Seinfeld - the make up of characters is close:
Reiger = Jerry
Elaine = Elaine (!)
Rev. Jim = Kramer
Louis = Newman
There was no George on Taxi, just Latka - and Taxi never knew what to do with him.
I never realized the female leads on both shows had the same name until just now.
I always thought Kramer was very similar to Rev. Jim.
The best one...
