anyone see this film yet?
What did you think ?
Never heard of it. But my motto is "No mercy!"
Wax on, wax off
Fuck Miyago Do karate. I practice Cobra Kai karate. Fear does not exist in this dojo.
Thor was my favorite Avenger. Didn't care much for Ultron.
Saw it yesterday with little/no expectation which was a good thing.
It was a love letter to Brian Wilson, by Brian Wilson. Think Private Parts with less hair. Even Pig Virus plays the pivotal role. The drink your milkshake kid and Cusack do a very good job, but the movie was just OK imo.
Oh, Elizabeth Banks looks hot as hell in most of it.
It took me a while to get over the Cusack parts . The young Willson parts are a lot better . I would have liked to see more of that . Willson should have gone solo . The Mike Love shit always blew anyways .
Saw it last weekend. Thought the recording sessions and young Brian losing his mind parts were better than the old Brian/Cusack parts. Giammatti played it just like pig virus. I was waiting for him to yell at Elizabeth Banks "YOU ARE THE MOTHERFUCKING ANTI CHRIST!!"
I also dug the soundtrack and the background music, which was bits and pieces of old Beach Boys tunes.
I thought Elizabeth Banks looked gorgeous.
one thing i realy liked was the way the sound was in the theater. When he heard voices it moved around the room. I loved the ear ringing sound when his father wacked him also.
I'm a big Beach Boys/Brian Wilson fan, but it's not playing at any theaters I like going to. I'm gonna have to wait for Netflix.
Love and Mercy
"Alex, what are two things lacking in my daily routine?"
OKOKokokokokok.... if the kid playing young Brian Wilson is suuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuch a great actor like everyone says why in the flying fuck wasn't he good enough to play older Brian Wilson with makeup on ???
What the fuck do you need John Cusack for???
Hmph. I liked his scenes, but I am a big Cusack fan. I thought the movie was really good.
Haven't seen it, so asking from a semi-ignorant viewpoint.... I get that it's two different periods in his life, but Dano is weird-looking enough to pull off an older character w/ fat suit and makeup. Two actors just makes it odd, I'd imagine...
I saw it last night. I'm a HUGE Brian Wilson fan, and I agree that the younger Brian scenes were great, but couldn't get over Cusak not being Cusak. Well done though, I thought.
