Not even Texas can match this one.

The Maine Senate has passed a "Constitutional Carry" bill with a vote of 21-14. The bill would permit gun owners to legally carry their weapons concealed without a permit. This is the second time in two years that the Senate has considered this type of bill.

While the votes were mostly split along party lines, three Democrats sided with the Republicans in voting for the measure.

The bill now moves on to the House of Representatives.

Vermont, Alaska, Arizona, Kansas, and Wyoming all have Constitutional Carry laws that allow permit-free concealed carry within the state. The Brady Campaign gave Maine an "F" grade on its state scorecard in 2013, yet also noted that the state has one of the lowest gun death rates in the nation.

It'll be interesting to see how this turns out. Maybe it'll be a good thing and spread to other states :dontknow:

Probably for the wildlife, you hit a deer or moose with the car, shoot and put them out of their misery. I'm from there. When I was a kid, you could never shoot from the road. You had to be away from the car "ya, right" until you could shoot.

Do you know Moose don't reflect the headlights like deer? You know the old saying "Like a deer in the headlights?" Doesn't work for Moose.

She could conceal a Glock 34 in there with suppressor sights, a red dot and laser / light combo.
For that matter she could also conceal a couple of extra mags.

Should always carry concealed anyway. If you're law abiding then cops won't know and if you get attacked by youfs you can defend yourself. The constitution is on your side. I've been pulled over for speeding and the cop wrote me a ticket. I was aggravated, but knew I was wrong. End incident. Cop never asked if I was armed and I didn't even have to get out of the car. In this country, if you don't use your rights, you'll lose them. I really wish all law abiding citizens carried. Taking things for granted is easy, I know. For instance, I'm taking for granted that most citizens know how to handle firearms. End rant.

Maine is 95% white and had only 24 murders in 2013. Same in 2012.

Baltimore City had more murders this month alone.

I don't think the guns are the problem. The ghetto culture and the acceptance and promotion of said culture is the problem.

If everyone was issued a gun the murder rate would drop. Taking the guns would not solve it because people would still be tossing folks out the window.

It's not about taking them. We have a serious mentality problem in this country that is worsening by the day. Our murder rate is way higher than other western countries and they aren't all running around with firearms. If everyone feels that they are in such danger that they need to carry a firearm on them at all times, then this country isn't worth a shit.

And the right to bear arms was t written into the constitution In the spirit that everyone would run around with concealed weapons to protect themselves from each other. It was to protect citizens from the government. It would sure be nice if Republicans and their supporters were more concerned about the rights our government has been taking away from us in our daily lives rather than worrying about the right to carry a weapon so much. It's like, "take away all my privacy and track my every move, but don't you dare touch my pistol." I find it rather comical.
