Police say the incident happened on Sunday, August 2nd, around 11:30 p.m. The man, 22-year-old Andrej Szczpka of Toronto, was arrested at the scene and held in custody until his court appearance on Monday, August 3rd, 2015. Szczypka is charged with mischief. According to police, the accused climbed the National War Memorial and then "began acts of fornicating on the statue." Anyone with information is asked to contact police.
