    I operate a drone for work sometimes. Expensive production drone with super nice camera. It's awesome and a total blast to fly and record with. Clients shell out big money for use to use it in their productions.

    I also feel like a complete asshole when I fly it over the public and I see them looking at it with disdain. I never get it low enough to unwilling participants that they could hit it with a thrown baseball much less a t-shirt but if someone did I would totally understand. Wouldn't be happy about it, but I would understand.

    I have a DJI Phantom 2. It's a super fun toy and I use it to take great aerial landscapes near my house. The claims that the drones will be used to spy on people are horseshit, they're louder than a weed-wacker and have flashing lights. Plus, the cameras are better for landscapes, my wife flashed her titties for the drone out the window and they came out very crappy, 1080P or no, and my wife's titties are magnificent.

    As the child of a pilot, though, I agree there need to be criminal penalties for jagoffs flying drones around airports.

    These things are like the awesomest RC car you ever owned. My kids love the drone.

    How easy would it be to remotely take over a drone? Annual hacker conference DEF CON has just proved that all you need is a Wi-Fi connection and a bit of ingenuity.

    A demonstration by Ryan Satterfield, from information security company Planet Zuda, sees him hack a Parrot AR drone -- one of the most popular versions currently on the market -- by using Wi-Fi to connect to an unsecured network port on the craft. Using a straightforward text command, he then sends the drone hurtling to the ground, making it all look disconcertingly easy.

    you dont need a dedicated jammer for that frequency: a CB radio will do it for less and with more power (also the sparkplug from a car will do the same)
