It's based on a 60s tv show. Don't worry if you never saw it. It does take place in '61 or so. It introduces the two main characters in a pretty entertaining way. Lots of interesting 60's spy stuff. Lots of action and intrigue. They stuck to 60s accuracy pretty well except for a lot of American words that the English didn't use at the time. The three main actors were good. Hugh Grant also has a small part in it and plays it well. The story is OK, maybe good, but not spectacular. They definitely set things up for a series of movies. Not a lot of CGI and huge special effects if that's what you like. I would give it maybe 3.5 out of 5. 4 if a pretty damn good movie and it doesn't reach that. If you enjoy the movie experience, go see it. If you don't mind waiting until it is on video, that's not a bad option.
