legalized/decrimed in your area? these days you can choose from strong cannabis or much mellower stuff. you could smoke, vaporize or eat, various types of hash or buds.

the market in legal areas is showing that many or most people are interested in a mid strength genetic vs the very strong stuff some of us seek. not everybody wants to get zonked when they partake.

i have known quite a few people over the years who did not smoke/vape because of the potential consequences of getting busted smoking a joint, or from showing up positive on a drug test at work. i didn't smoke for 2 years because of a potential drug test at work.

most people who smoke/vape just do it once in awhile, like a weekend thing. i've read that about 7% of us use it at least once a month.

so would you if there were no legal or work consequences?

If it were totally legal I'd replace my bushes and graze on it like a goat.

drug testing is illegal in Canada for most jobs and pot is not legal but no one really seems to care about it.

so yeah, I still smoke it sometimes

you have to do drug tests in the US even for bullshit WalMart jobs, right? i'm not necessarily saying that's a bad thing. maybe it's for the best. it just seems really strange to me.

We are pretty torn here in Ohio. They are probably going to get recreational pot on the ballot this year. I have always been for the legalization of Marijuana, which is a weed and not a fucking drug anyway. Here's the rub: the group behind this has attached the stipulation that all of the growing will be done by a select group of grow operations that will effectively turn the whole thing into some kind of pot monopoly. As much as I want legal weed, I detest these kind of fuckheads.

I'll probably vote in favor, because it will also be legal for individuals to grow up to four plants. When done correctly, that is way more pot than I would ever ingest in a year.

I'm not sure - while it may become legal, companies can still drug-test. I'd be very wary of that.

    i'm canadian/american, i love canader!

drug testing except for driving/flying or police type jobs etc. is bullshit. many companies test because their contracts with state and federal government states that they have drug free workplaces which usually includes having to drug test.

america, where you are innocent until proven guilty except when you are forced to drug test, where you are guilty until you prove your innocence. what a world.

marijuana policy project and NORML etc are all in on it for the big growers. i hate that they are behind the legalization movement but i'll always vote yes. we'll deal with the restrictive bullshit later. they don't want us to be able to grow a few plants at home. dispensaries owners are assholes and want huge profits and no competition.

    Step 1. get it legalized
Step 2. Change the distribution network through new legislation.

I used to do it at university and if I'm at a concert or a party maybe I will have a hit, but even if it was available at a shop I probably wouldn't buy my own. I know friends who can get it easily, but I have never bothered asking for it.

No, it's a bunch of shit. Funny how the millennials just getting into the workforce have no objection to this type of thing, that's all they know, companies drug-test you as part of your application. And the drug test is really just a weed test; harder drugs like heroin and cocaine can be easily hidden because they leave the system quicker. I remember when shit jobs at fast food places, department stores, etc first started doing this shit in the late 80s and 90s...there was a backlash against the invasion of privacy, but the "war on drugs" was at its height, and it was hard to argue the fact that if you feel violated than you don't have to work there. And now, it's just accepted. Still seems wrong to me.

I haven't ever smoked it yet. I guess if it was completely legal to buy and use anywhere then I would try it at least once.
