You have probably seen many athletes and coaches wear these ridiculous bracelets. They don't do anything as the CEO of the company has admitted. The NBA and other leagues have made marketing deals with Power Bracelets which sell for around thirty dollars. Mark Cuban, billionaire owner of Dallas Mavericks has had enough so he made this short video clip.

I saw an episode of Shark Tank where they featured a similar (or maybe the same) product. Cuban was openly hostile toward the guy who was doing the presentation and really rattled him.

They can't tell you the black players use those for cock rings (much more comfortable than a bulky Rolex). Cubans mad because they don't tighten enough to fit him.

I'm not a big fan of cocky, Liberal billionaires, but sometimes I find myself like Mark Cuban.

I like Cuban - mostly because he started as a small, nobody-college student at Indiana U and thought of an idea and has made himself into a millionaire (billionaire?). He really is just like a lot of us.

I'm too lazy to look up this shit but what is the angle? That a bracelet is going to give you some kind of magical power? Is it supposed to increase jumping ability? It looks like shaped rubberized-plastic.

And the NBA has something to do with it?

    Strange.

I used to work with a 40+ year old man who used to wear Silly Bands. Silly Bands - that stupid trend that the kids were into a few years back.
And every time, I would ask him about it - he would get extremely defensive, and say that he liked wearing them.
I was relentless & would continually ask "oh you're still wearing those. Aren't they for children?"
And he would hold his ground & defend the Silly Bands.

A buddy of mine has spend hundreds on these because he said he played better golf when he used them. I'm guessing it was a placebo effect or something.

The "power" is supposed to derive from the stone's special qualities. It's all horse shit. Like, say you want folks to buy your turquoise stone bracelet. Tell them that turquoise helps people have clarity and less confusion if it's worn against the skin and they'll stupidly believe you and buy it. I guess someone scammed the NBA with similar pitches. Hilarious.
