haha... reminds me of the show, "the mind of a married man" can't find the clip but one of the guys is bragging that on his birthday his wife puts the stooges in the vcr & then proceeds to give him a blowjob, thinking he's in heaven he hits play & its fucking SHEMP! ...which just pisses him off to no end & kills the moment. nonstooge fans won't understand that dilemma.
this was a good series for those that missed it.

I put on the stooges last year, a shemp came on and my six year old daughter went "ohhh no, it's a shemp" it's fascinating how the disappointment transcends age and gender

This man is 100% correct .
Curly Joe, was the death of the Stooges. Not funny. Too forced.
But the Marx Brothers? Hilarious in their own right! But it was a different kind of humor. Every bit as funny, but a different kind of funny. More playing on words rather than slapstick.

Who was funnier? Major Burns, or Colonel Blake? I tend to lean more towards Burns. Funny sumbitch.

I can't choose between the Marx Brothers or the Stooges.

That goddamed stuff with either Curly or Shemp is just so awesome. When I was a little kid I'd watch them & wonder what was wrong with them... were they retarded or something.
It was so disturbing to my kid mind that I was fascinated by them.

The Marx Brothers work on a more cerebral level like LSD while the Stooges are so offensively stupid the only impulse is to giggle like an idiot pot high.

And speaking of Laurel & Hardy -I hope everyone has a copy of multi-disc dvd box set Laurel & Hardy The Essential Collection.

My wife gave that to me for Christmas along with two box sets of the Looney Tunes Golden Collection series.

But of course ... and what was the deal with Joe Besser?
    Was he gay or something?
He fucking always creeped me out... even in the Abbott & Costello tv shows.

It's got to be either Curly or Shemp or it isn't Stooges.
