NEW HAVEN, Conn. (WTNH) — A New Haven Public Schools teacher who was under investigation for an alleged inappropriate relationship with a student, has been arrested. Last week, News 8 learned that a New Haven Public Schools teacher, who is also a member of the New Haven Board of Education, was under investigation after officials learned of a possible inappropriate relationship involving a student. Police told us that the woman is a teacher at the Engineering and Science University Magnet School located at 130 Leeder Hill Drive in Hamden. This school is the only New Haven Public School located in Hamden. On Wednesday, police arrested Kirvanna Jones. Jones is a math teacher at ESUMS. She is charged with second-degree sexual assault and risk of injury to a minor. Police say the juvenile will not be identified.
