No matter what Candidate you support i think we can all agree that Matt Lauer should be run out of town on the rails.

I agree with all that you say here.

I knew beforehand that he was not going to throw fastballs by them.

He's not a hard hitting journalist as much as he would like to believe it.......he's a step above TMZ as a news person.

He let Trump off the hook on so much of his BS. He is in front of a group of Vets and doesn't mention his statements on John McCain. Doesn't question Trump on his support of invading Iraq, his support for going into Libya. He let the Orange Menace filibuster his bullshit rhetoric.

Trump never supported the invasion of Iraq. His so-called support was a non-committal statement on the Howard Stern show. On the other hand, Hillary actually voted for authorization of the invasion. I don't see how pressing Trump on such a non-issue would benefit anybody.

We were blaming the candidates but when the dust settled it was obvious that Matt Lauer was the clown.

Perhaps Hillary should have the person feeding her answers through that earpiece give her a better comeback.

Trump runs around everywhere saying that he is sooooo smart and has said dozens upon dozen times that he was against going into Iraq. I don't care if he was for or against the war. My problem is him parading around like he was some wise man who fought against the war which we all know is complete bullshit.

Any of these hosts who get a big prime time gig like this see it as an opportunity to shine as some sort of witty, smart, gotcha, type of hard hitting journalist. It isn't about the candidates, it's about their performance. Makes perfect sense that their performance is just as big a story as those who the show was truly about. of course it went the opposite way Matt hoped. I am sure he was hoping to wake up to,"Laurer takes no prisoners, shines as forum moderator! ".

He should stick to his morning show, where he reads words from a TelePrompTer written by other people.

And I love how both sides think their candidate got shafted somehow. :giggle:

The biggest question I have here is who was pulling Lauer's puppet strings?

Or is he such a convoluted asshole that he considered those questions to be tough?

Did he come up with the questions or was there a preamble on both sides to direct him to what he could ask?

The real story was even with the softest of softballs, Hillary still needed an earpiece to get answers from her writers.

Pathetic that she had to cheat with a Hillary donor moderating. :ufacepalm:

I think so, i think he is so full of himself he lost sight of his job last night. Narcissism is not pretty. He's getting beat up in the news and on twitter today and rightly so.
